Learning To Choose Right Over Want

Goals for 2023

Last year, 2022 was crazy. It was the year me and my sister started homeschooling after a year of zoom schooling, later being joined by our cousin.

I thought that homeschooling was hard at first because we had to leave our friends behind and I thought it’ll be hard to get them back, but actually it didn’t really happen as I thought. We had playdates with them every now and then, played scrabble and super smash together, visited their house and they visited ours.

Middle school homeschooling is a crucial time for my family to prepare spiritually for highschool. During our homeschooling years, we learned about the women of faith and re-joined AHG after the pandemic, and made new friends at our school.

Some points I’ve been practicing during homeschooling is:

  • It’s all about your mindsets, how you start your day, how you start a project or anything. If it’s good, or you keep it good, it’ll most likely go smoothly. If you start it with a bad mindset you’ll most likely have a rough time.
  • Responsibility, making a schedule and sticking to it. Being a self motivated engine.
  • Discipline, my sister, cousin, aunt and I go running and used to go swimming in the mornings every day to start our day. We learned to keep going one step at a time, good mindsets and embrace challenges.

etc.

Homeschooling has helped me deepen my relationship with God and I know I’ll be ready for next year’s high school.
