Realigning to God’s road

Realigning to God’s road

During the 2023 Montana orienteering activity. My team of four, Gohan Desu Yo, had a great run and ended 2nd place. Although we didn’t end 1st like I wanted to because – “Only #1 for God,” – we learned a lot of lessons and by heart and lessons learned maybe we did win 1st.

Every time I get to orienteer, I learn a lot. I learn to give my 110% for God, intentionality/having the right mindset and motive, embracing challenges, kkeut kaji, and much, much, much more.

This year was the first year I went orienteering in Montana and with adults. I made it my goal to keep up with the adults and to not give in to exhaustion. I was determined to give my 110% and kkeut kaji (till the end). I also practiced embracing challenges and having the right mindset and motive.

If I had the wrong mindset and motive, it would have been 100% easier to give up and give in to exhaustion. I practiced having the right mindset and the right motive. Why I’m giving my 110%, and what type of attitude I want to give my Jung sung up with.

I did manage to keep up with the adults and when we decided to do a risky last run for a flag that’ll mostly end up with us being 10 minutes late, me and another teammate got tired and we were walking most of the way uphill.

Earlier that day, we got lost and wanted a lot of energy going up a steep uphill path, so the last stretch on another steep hill was even more difficult. But seeing the end and everyone cheering us on, we did it. We ran the rest of the way up, pushing past our limits, embracing the challenges that’ll give us new lessons and help us grow.

We made it only 2 ½ minutes late, but they still counted it as 3 minutes late. 😦

[When we got lost, we searched for the main path so we could find out where we were. In life it is also like that. If I ever get lost, I have to realign to God’s road and find out where I am and from there, move forward.]

When we got back, we first reflected on how we did and what we learned. Everyone took turns giving their lessons and growing points. I went 2nd after the captain of our group and shared about kkeut kaji, embracing challenges, and having the right mindset and motive.

Later after reflection and after our captain offered everything in prayer. We celebrated with watermelon and fruits.

I am super grateful for my team, for helping me grow and push myself further.

Thank you to the uncle that offered to carry our water bottles even though he knew it was going to be a challenge.

Thank you team for keeping on going and pushing the expectations higher and encouraging each other to push harder. Mudita_Philocalist : now 14 year old : )
